Getting to a ferry terminal in Klaipėda: what to check before you leave

Use the address on your booking

The terminal for an international ferry depends on your sailing and operator. Find the terminal name and address in your booking confirmation and pass them on to the driver. If the operator sends an update, follow the latest instructions.

The Smiltynė ferry crosses the Curonian Lagoon to the Curonian Spit. If that is your destination, specify the Old or New Ferry Terminal so we can plan the right route from the start.

Work backwards from the check-in deadline

The sailing time is not the latest time you can arrive. Check-in closes earlier, and the deadline varies by sailing and whether you are travelling with a vehicle. Even if you have checked in online, you may still need to arrive on time for document checks.

Add time for traffic, unloading luggage and finding your way around the terminal. Tell us when you must check in, and we’ll discuss the pickup time accordingly. Planning to arrive just as check-in closes leaves very little room for delays.

Prepare your luggage and documents

Tell us about suitcases, pushchairs or work equipment as well as the number of passengers. If you are unsure whether everything will fit, it is easier to discuss it before the car arrives.

• Bring the required identity documents for everyone travelling.
• Save your ticket on your phone so you can show it without an internet connection.
• Check where foot passengers need to register and follow the terminal staff’s instructions.
